LAVAZZA DESIGN FAMILY

112 years of signs, products, messages

A handbook that celebrates Lavazza’s passion for design, curated by design critic Virginio Briatore

This booklet illustrates how, through signs, objects, shapes and art, over the years Lavazza has gradually become a 'factory of contemporary language' and, effectively, of products, thoughts and lifestyles: from the posters, graphics, packaging and characters created by Armando Testa to the Carmencita coffeepot by Marco Zanuso, the Espresso Point machines by Pininfarina, Claudio Caramel's coffee cup inspired by the "A" of the Lavazza trademark, the calendars shot by great photographers, the Chicco coffee cup by Matteo Thun, and the coffee that became Espesso and Sphere through the inventiveness of Ferran Adrià.

All these projects are history and design, past, present and future. They are a family of products. A family of signs. A Lavazza family.
