2002 marked a major milestone for the launch of the ¡Tierra! Project.

The initiative was chronologically divided in two phases: the first phase, which ended in 2009, involved three communities in Peru, Honduras and Colombia, while the second phase, launched in 2010, concerned India, Brazil and Tanzania. Since 2013, the project has involved two communities in Ethiopia and Vietnam.

On-site projects share the following two objectives:

  • improving the living conditions, social development and economic growth of farming communities;
  • developing high-quality productions with a gradually reduced environmental impact, thanks to new agricultural techniques and production tools, to achieve greater competitiveness and independence.
