The Lavazza Foundation promotes and finances international sustainability projects in the countries where coffee is cultivated. Lavazza ¡TIERRA! emerged in 2002 from a social responsibility project to improve the social and environmental conditions and production techniques of some coffee producing communities.

Lavazza has always bought its coffee directly from growers and local coffee traders on the basis of specific selection criteria developed thanks to the technical support of our coffee experts.
 

The beans are carefully selected and roasted through a combination of the traditional drum method and air convection. Thanks to our “gentle” roasting, we guarantee a lingering flavour and the preservation of the aromas.

¡Tierra! Brasile Extra Intense

Intense espresso with a rich, velvety body
An extremely intense blend with a strong note of caramel and a sweet aftertaste. The Conillon, a highly prized washed Robusta, provides aromas of dark cocoa which fuse with hints of toasted cereals and butterscotch.

¡Tierra! Colombia 100% Arabica

A blend of Colombian washed Arabica coffees, ideal for an espresso. Aromatic harmony and a smooth taste are exalted by the typical sweetness, with a refined acidity and rich body. Hints of tropical fruit combined with the scent of lime zest and jasmine flowers, with a sweet liqueur aftertaste.

¡Tierra! Colombia Filter Coffee 100% Arabica

An ideal blend for filter preparations, with a fruity aroma and well-balanced body. The pronounced sweetness of washed Colombian Arabica coffees, with notes of grapefruit, red fruits, bergamot and hints of honey.
Particularly recommended for cold brew preparation.

A full-bodied espresso with a soft texture. Arabica Lambari and Cereja Apassita result in a sweet coffee, with notes of caramel, hazelnuts, honey and milk chocolate.

Blend of Brazilian coffees, ideal for espresso. A fusion of the best Brazilian Arabica coffees with the highly prized Conillon, a variety of washed Robusta.

Training to support quality

Every day, the Lavazza Training Center holds training courses for professionals, providing an in-depth understanding of the raw material and the processes of transformation, promoting a culture of quality coffee.

The Lavazza Training Center has also obtained official certification as a Premier Training Campus from the SCA — Specialty Coffee Association — the world’s most distinguished Association for the promotion of excellence in the world of coffee.

Lavazza is also the first coffee company in Italy to contain a “Q-Grader” tasting room, which is to say a special room where the qualification awarded by the SCA to green coffee tasters can be obtained.
