Stags play significant roles in a range of mythological traditions. In particular, the periodic regrowth of their antlers is seen as a symbol of fertility, the constant renewal of life, and the rhythms of growth, death and rebirth. In this image, the stag’s antlers transform into the branches of a tree, supporting an enormous nest which holds an egg: the cosmic egg, which was understood to be the soul of the world in ancient times. At the top of this work of art is a city towering over everything: an ideal city, one which could not exist without being sustainable, in harmony with the cycle of natural life.
TOward 2030 What Are You Doing? is a project conceived by Lavazza and the City of Turin, with the aim of promoting and spreading awareness of the United Nations’ Global Goals through Street Art: 18 artists have given their interpretation of the 17 + 1 Global Goals, bringing art and sustainability together.
