Viale Ottavio Mai
As humans we have learned to make paper from trees and books from paper. Books contribute to our knowledge base. With this knowledge we understand that to make other books we need to plant more trees. Ideally this represents an essential cycle where humans and nature live in perfect harmony, growing together.
The piece uses images of trees, paper, books and seeds to symbolise this cycle.
We aim to tackle the theme of education, putting particular emphasis on sustainable education and the right to education for everyone, one of the goals to be achieved by 2030.
TOward 2030 What Are You Doing? is a project conceived by Lavazza and the City of Turin, with the aim of promoting and spreading awareness of the United Nations’ Global Goals through Street Art: 18 artists have given their interpretation of the 17 + 1 Global Goals, bringing art and sustainability together.
With special thanks to EDISU (Regional Agency for the Right to Education of Piedmont) and the students of the University of Turin.
