In the year that marks the 500th anniversary of the foundation of Havana, Lavazza coffee marks a piece of history with the creation of a limited edition of ¡Tierra! La Habana.

This special blend, which evokes all the heat and atmosphere of the streets of Cuba, comes to life in 3 collectable tins featuring an original design.

A unique coffee from 100% Arabica Cuban beans, the island’s Caribbean soul is fully expressed through its roundness, body and delicate hints of chocolate and cereals.

To celebrate Cuba’s spirit, colours and tastes, Cuban illustrator Yanel took inspiration from the symbol of the city, the famous Castillo del Morro lighthouse, to design the first tin for ¡Tierra! La Habana.

This blend is also available in many of our exclusive stores. Are you in Cuba?

From October, you will be able to find the Limited Edition blend in two historic cafés located in the heart of the capital: Café Del Oriente and Café El Escorial, where Lavazza ¡Tierra! La Habana will be the official coffee.

In a journey through pictures, Steve McCurry reveals the stories and faces of Cuban farmers, the true protagonists of Lavazza’s project in collaboration with Oxfam and the Italian Equity Crowdfunding Association (AIEC) in Sierra Maestra.

For Lavazza, photography has always represented an important means of expression in telling its stories. Since 2004, its collaboration with Steve McCurry has grown into a true synergy of like-minded approaches in promoting the ¡Tierra! project, the first initiative to support coffee-producing countries. Since then, much more work has been done together, with the creation of a project that is both culturally and tangibly sustainable.

“The best pictures are ones that tell a story, that take us on a journey”

The Lavazza Training Center experience at the Casa de la Amistad

From the first half of September, Casa de la Amistad will host the Lavazza Training Center - the largest centre for coffee studies on the Italian and international scene - for a unique training experience which will guide a number of Cuban baristas through a specific course on the art and culture of coffee: from roasting to blending, from the preparation of espressos and cappuccinos to latte art and perfect service.
