The decaffeination process

The decaf coffee is obtained by removing the caffeine from the pre-toasted bean: Lavazza applies this procedure at its manufacturing plant in Pozzilli, dedicated exclusively to the decaffeination of green coffee. The process adopted by Lavazza is unique because it does not use solvents and uses carbon dioxide to better preserve the coffee’s organoleptic characteristics and aromas.
