On Tuesday 14 April, the second instalment of curated content from Lavazza’s Historical Archive was made available online, digitised with the help of the Promemoria Group. This is part of the Lavazza Museum’s ongoing process of using contemporary images and materials to share their story with the public - a tale of a family and company that boasts 125 years of history.

The new narrative approach focuses on the fascinating history of the Lavazza Calendars: a celebration of the relationship between the Turin-based company and the world of photography, stretching back to the very first Calendar in 1993 and the work of the legendary Berliner, Helmut Newton. An international project, conceived as an innovative way to depict the world of coffee and the company’s values, helping to consolidate its image on an international level. Newton, Scianna, Leibovitz, Olaf, McCurry, Platon: these are just some of the big names that have collaborated with Lavazza in its adventures in the field of fine photography. This year, David LaChapelle has been chosen for the 2020 Lavazza Calendar, “Earth CelebrAction”.
